Pflugerville Police Officers are busy getting ready for Christmas – especially helping children who are less fortunate than others. The officers would also like to thank those who thoughtfully lend their annual support to the Blue Santa Program. Local citizens open their hearts and unselfishly give toys, food, money and volunteer their time each year.
Blue Santa aims at providing toys and Christmas dinners for needy children and their families in the local area. Last year, more than 450 children were able to enjoy a better holiday due to the Blue Santa program.
In order to continue this tradition, the police need help with donations of new toys, non-perishable food items and money. Donations can be dropped off at Brookhollow, Springhill, Timmerman, Murchison, Pflugerville or Rowe Lane Elementary Schools. Other locations include Gaddy’s Feed, Comerica Bank, Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce, A+ Federal Credit Union, Well’s Branch Self Storage, Pflugerville City Hall, Falcon Pointe Community Center and the Pflugerville Justice Center.
Money donations should be sent by check or money order to:
Pflugerville Blue Santa
c/o Pflugerville Police Department
P.O. Box 679
Pflugerville, Texas 78691-0679
Blue Santa also needs volunteers to help sort the toys, wrap presents and deliver the packages. Volunteers are the backbone of the program. Blue Santa operations are now underway. For more information stop by the Pflugerville Police Department or call:
Cpl. Mike Clowdus at 670-5512.
The annual Christmas Parade in Pflugerville is Saturday, December 3rd. This would be a great time to bring a toy or donation to Blue Santa. Look for the Blue Santa Float with the Blue Santa Elves around it.
While giving thanks for all we have, please remember the children who need your help. Blue Santa bridges the gap to supply families with at least a token of joy on Christmas Day.
To receive assistance please contact Cpl. Clowdus or go by the Travis County North Rural Center or the Pflugerville Justice Center and complete an application form. Delivery day is Saturday, December 17th between 10a.m. and 3p.m., so applicants should make sure that someone is home during this time to receive the packages.
